Teaching Steps

Steps in learning how to box.Practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.

1.(The Puncher) Ultimate delivery power, movement and positing.
Proper foot and upper tarsal positioning to attain most powerful punches with each punch and movement working in unison to flow to the next movement. Included are head movement, weaving and foot movement all working together so there are no wasted positions or waste of energy this is called perpetual moving. Punches are not just perfect with the hip and hand timing, with the whole body moving in perfect sync creates the ultimate delivery.
Fighting on the inside with high levels of head movement being able to feel comfortable with not getting hit when in the punching range of your opponent. This is an awesome way of wearing out your opponent.
The reason I teach the puncher first is so that you learn how to punch to your full bodies potential. If one moves on too quickly bad habits appear hindering ones full perfection of the skill.

Body awareness is the key to perfection.

2.(The Boxer) The ultimate delivery and positioning may take some time of mastering before moving to this stage (especially if the individual has bad habits). After learning the keys to number 1. The boxing stance then is learned “different than the ultimate delivery stance.” side to side movement and jabbing from the outside and moving in and out of range are at this stage of boxing mechanics.

3. “(Counter punching)” then is taught with the delivery of the most explosive punches as one is aware of the alterations of body language of ones opponent.

4. “(Combinations)” and feeling comfortable when in range of the opponent. It is easy to learn how to throw a single or even two punches at a time. It is more difficult to learn how feel comfortable throwing combinations of four to six explosive punches at a time when in punching range.

The general information that is here written is an overall view of the proper way to master the art of boxing form, but to master one punch takes much perfect body awareness and has so many factors that it could take months of study to learn just one movement perfectly. For those who already have unperfected mechanics and bad habits, I suggest that closing ones eyes and moving at very slowly rates focusing on all movement of all of the body, re-embedding movements perfectly into ones unconscious like the Shaulin priestTo master, helps to study from a master.
