Our Legacy
From the tough steel town
of Pittsburgh Pa. The Riskus Boxing Club has come to South
Florida.
Michael Riskus son of Art Riskus has brought his family fighting
heritage to Delray Beach. Art Riskus started the Riskus Boxing
Club in 1960 and in its existence, in Pittsburgh, his team
has won the team trophy every year the team participated in
the Golden Gloves. The team would train in the basement of
Mike and Art's house, Monday through Friday. The team would
gather at the house and learn the skills and condition themselves
for the amateur boxing tournaments. Many of them later became
pro's including Mike's cousins Chris and Carl.
Art passed away in 1972 at the age of 34. After the tragic
loss, Bill Zaleta friend and co-trainer, continued to train
fighters, but it was not until four years later that the club
was re-opened by Art's brother Carl, who in the family heritage
kept the legacy going, still winning the team trophy every
year in the teams existence. Bill Zaleta is a friend and inspiration
who in the hearts of all the boxers will ever be remembered.
Please come and participate as Mike will continue in turning
out lean mean fighting machines.
If you are interested in learning how to box and learn from
someone who has been around boxing his whole life call the
Riskus Boxing Club.
Practice does not make perfect, Perfect practice makes perfect.

Training preparation:
For those who are not in the ages of 14 to 18, I will only
train on a one on one bases, until I believe the individual
has fundamentally learned the skills precisely. I do not want
to waste anyone's time with just a workout. I want everyone
that I work with to become the best they can be, this means
precision from day one.
